Jets Sign Second Round Draft Pick Hill
According to Jenny Vrentas of The Star Ledger the Jets have already signed their second round draft pick, #43 overall, wide receiver Stephen Hill (Georgia Tech) to a contract:
Less than a week after being drafted, receiver Stephen Hill has reached agreement with the Jets on a four-year deal worth just under $5 million, according to a person with knowledge of the negotiations.
About $2.8 million is guaranteed.
A big “red zone” target at 6’4″ 215 pounds Hill possesses great, 4.36 forty, speed and averaged 29.3 yards per catch for the Yellow Jackets last season. Also known as a good blocker the Jets will look for him to help support the run as well as stretch the field in the passing game.
Considered a raw talent, only catching 49 balls in his colligate career, Hill has tremendous upside but will need to improve his route running and ball skills to becoming a complete receiver at the pro level.
With Hill signed the Jets can now focus on their remaining seven draft picks.
